An East Texas woman recently took to Facebook in an effort to hire someone to fatally shoot and kill her pet dog. She said: “I need someone to come shoot my dog, nobody here has the heart do do it!”
Animal control officers within Smith County and Nicolas Pet Haven have already rescued the animal – a 3-year-old Saint Bernard/English Bulldog mix named Cinnamon. The pet dog has already been given to a foster family while the adoption goes through, thankfully.
The animal shelter is calling this absolutely ‘devastating.’ One coordinator, Nanette Moss, said this ‘broke her heat’ to hear of a ‘sweet dog’ and someone wanting to shoot and kill it. It is, at this time, unclear as to why the woman wanted the dog killed, though we suspect she simply didn’t want to care for it any longer. The woman, unfortunately, will not face criminal charges for her actions, as she voluntarily gave the dog to the local authorities when they arrived at her home.
