The police force in Huainan, Anhui Province, China, have finally arrested a wanted man who they have been chasing for some four years. The man, named Hu, had a warrant for his arrest issued in 2011 following the assault of a local resident but was able to evade arrest after stealing his twin brother’s identity.

This led to police wrongly arresting the twin a total of six times while they were investigating the crime. Unaware that the man they were pursuing had a number of distinguishing features, such as a tattoo and mole, they mistakenly identified that wrong twin as a wanted man regularly as he went about his normal life.

The beating that the victim sustained was so bad that four suspects who had already been arrested and put on trial are currently serving lengthy jail terms. Hu will now also go to court and if found guilty also spend several years in prison.
